Deciding if this is right for you (Skaters)

The content of this skills camp is pure skating skills.  This is not just how to pass your minimum skills, but how to use your skates to master the skills and build on them for the game.

We're looking for skaters who love to skate (hours and hours and hours), love to hang out, and won't get homesick!

To get the most out of the weekend, we recommend that any participating skater can confidently skate 12 laps of a WFTDA regulation track in 5 minutes.  If you can do this, then whether you've just started on wheels or whether you've recently passed your mins with your home league, then this camp is right for you!

You can always message us if you're not sure!

Deciding if this is right for you (Coaches)

  • Do you coach roller derby?
  • Do you have an opinion on minimum skills for roller derby?
  • Do you want to meet other coaches and learn about other leagues?
  • Are you a new coach?
  • Are you an experienced coach?
  • Are you thinking of coaching but haven't started yet?

If you answered "yes" to any of the questions above, then YES this is the place to be!

What to bring (SKATERS)

  • ALL THE GEAR - we expect every skater to be fully kitted up- that includes skates, wrist guards, elbow pads, knee pads, helmet, AND mouthguard.  If you don't have all those things, you won't skate.
  • Tops with your name and number on the back!  Bring extra!  You're going to get so sweaty.
  • Enough food and water to last the day.  There will definitely be lunch breaks and there are shops in the area, but come prepared in case!

What to bring (Coaches)

  • If you're planning to coach on skates, bring your kit!  We expect you to wear knee pads and wrist guards at a minimum but suggest full kit for safety.
  • Bring any info you have and are willing to share about how your league manages their minimum skills -- paper format or in your brain, it's all good!
  • Things to write in, draw in, take notes in.  Also pens.
  • Enough food and water to last the day.  There will definitely be lunch breaks and there are shops in the area, but come prepared in case!
